Yeah, I’m not sure where I was going with this, actually… And actually I wasn’t really listening to the song that was on the radio. I was listening to a combination of four songs that had been mixed together and one of those songs was playing on the radio, but it’s still kinda the same. Kinda.
Today I found out I’m actually going to be working next week as well which is good since I’ll be making more money but also means I have less time to work on things like flashes. So I made a flash! This oxymoron is the very essence of this post (except not really).
So I finally got this flash done. It’s not amazing, but it is the longest flash I’ve done in a while, even longer than the yogurt one. Anyway, there’s a lot of explanation behind a lot of these jokes, but I’ll spare you the details. Let’s just say a lot of stuff in this flash actually happened in real life. Also, the usaw joke was originally for this. I just posted it yesterday because yet another video post felt like a cop out. So, enjoy!
Alright, so apparently I can’t draw today. The direction of the flash sort of suffered as a result… But that’s aside from the point! We went to a store today where my sister and I discovered a series called ‘The Manga Guide to’ where they teach you cool things through manga comics. I picked up a book on computer databases and my sister picked up one on calculus to help her with her AP classes. Anyway, they’re a lot of fun and really funny too. Maybe not groundbreaking stories, but they’re definitely a good idea. If you see them, give them a look.
Here’s a flash of Hat Girl spinning! Why? I’m not entirely sure… I drew a picture of Hat girl today and I thought ‘I should use that for an animation.’ So I made her spin. That was pretty much the entire creative process. O.O
Just some random drawings I did on a tablet today. I’m really hoping to get a tablet in the near future as it speeds up drawing by… a lot. But these were just drawn on a tablet borrowed from the college of architecture. Oh well. Enjoy some random drawings I did today!
Just a really quick one since I feel drained today. I feel a little bad using a semi-inside joke for this, but it’s from a game called Creatures 3. You play as the caretaker of creatures called Norns on a spaceship and among the things you do is maintain their ecosystem. You need machines to deal with the ecosystem, but they don’t start out at full efficiency, hence playing god (of the norns) at 25% efficiency. Not that you have to know that to get the flash, but in case you were wondering, now you know.
Well, I’ve been busy for most of today working on Christmas decorations and my sister’s Christmas present, so here are some quick character sketches I did yesterday in flash. Tomorrow’s flash should have an actual story. Probably.
EDIT: Fixed now that I’ve finally figured out how the new coding in Flash works. Well, kind of. Anyway, the original version can be seen here. Anyway, this is just a test of working with flash-based comics. It’s random, I know, and I’ll come up with more witty comics in the future (hopefully with better art as well), but this was sort of a proof of concept thing for me to figure out how to work this. Should be much easier to deal with in the future now.
So I discovered today that it’s been far too long since I’ve tried to mess with actionscript in Flash. It’s completely changed and I don’t know how to make buttons work properly anymore. As a result the buttons in this flash don’t work. Or anything else for that matter… So enjoy this spaz attack instead! I could’ve just extended the number of frames and made each panel play for longer, but I didn’t. Why? Because the spazziness made me laugh. Also haven’t figured out how to embed flash yet so there’s only a link here now. I’ll edit this post once I figure it out. Fixed.
